In ancient Greek mythology, Rose Quartz was born from the blood of Adonis and the tears of Aphrodite, goddess of love — spilled together as she rushed to save him, staining white quartz the colour of their joined grief and devotion. The Romans adopted the stone entirely, using it as a seal of ownership — a gift between lovers that meant "this heart is claimed." In ancient Egypt, Rose Quartz facial masks were discovered in tombs — used by Egyptian women including those of the highest nobility, who believed the stone preserved youth, cleared the complexion and kept the face radiant through old age. The goddess Isis herself was said to have used it. In Chinese culture, Rose Quartz has been carved into love talismans for over a thousand years — placed in the southwest corner of homes in Feng Shui practice to activate the energy of romantic love and lasting partnership. Silicon Dioxide — Coloured by Dumortierite, Softened by Time

Rose Quartz is a macrocrystalline variety of Quartz — SiO₂, Silicon Dioxide — its distinctive blush produced by microscopic fibrous inclusions of dumortierite or titanite distributed throughout the crystal lattice. Unlike most quartz varieties which form in distinct points and terminations, Rose Quartz almost never forms individual crystals — it grows in massive formations, the entire body of rock becoming the crystal, which crystal workers interpret as an expression of its nature: boundless, undirected, not pointed at a single target but radiating in every direction simultaneously. At a Mohs hardness of 7, it is excellent for daily wear — durable enough to accompany every moment of the day without requiring careful handling. As a member of the quartz family, it carries the same piezoelectric properties — generating a subtle oscillating charge under physical pressure, creating measurable interaction with the bioelectric field of the body when worn in continuous skin contact. Its unusually soft, diffused internal light — caused by the Tyndall scattering effect within its dumortierite inclusions — gives it a visual warmth that no other crystal quite matches.
